Notes- Gathering Information
· In recent times more attention has been paid to police in minority neighborhoods
· There are a multitude of reports of neglecting officers in Harlem
· The neglect is based in the primarily African American areas
· By some reports there has been police brutality in these areas for long periods of time
· “However in other cities police activity in predominately minority areas has increased dramatically in recent years”
· Police used to be ordered not to make any arrests in Harlem
· Minority leaders say that policing in the areas or still over aggressive
· “Aggressive policing is as objectionable as police neglect the leaders say”
· The people are trying to make it equal policing in all areas
· The people are helping in this problem
